Garden Gala Set for June 11-12, Raises Funds for Circle of Caring

May 25, 2011
CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - The 13th Annual Garden Gala, sponsored by Circle of Caring, is set for June 11 and 12 and will feature seven residential gardens and one Biblical Garden.

The Garden Gala is held to support the Circle of Caring program, a Faith in Action program initially funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Its mission is to assist the frail and elderly as well as people living with disabilities, and their families, on a casual basis. Circle of Caring provides transportation, handyman chores, yard work, shopping, light housekeeping, friendly visiting in person and by phone, respite care, and ramp building. All of these efforts are designed to help those served to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life in their own homes.

The Garden Gala is a great opportunity to generate new ideas for your gardens and take in the beautiful natural landscapes your neighbors have been able to create. Scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 12, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., pre-sale tickets are available for the discounted price of $8 and available at your local garden centers and Goodwin’s Family Restaurant. During the weekend of the event, tickets will be available for $10.

For more information about the Circle of Caring or the Garden Gala, call 740-474-7844.

Donations to Circle of Caring are administered through the Berger Health Foundation, with a specific purpose fund established to assure all gifts are used to operate this community volunteer program. Additional support is received from United Way of Pickaway County, local churches and the community.
