Rehabilitation Center

For over ten years, the Rehabilitation Center at Berger Hospital has treated thousands of patients recovering from stroke, trauma, amputation, major orthopedic surgery, neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, and many other illnesses.

Berger's Rehab Center is the only full-service, acute inpatient facility located in Pickaway County.

The center's goal is to provide "close-to-home" individualized services to restore functional ability for patients. The team of rehabilitation professionals will work with the patient and their family to begin treatment immediately in an effort to help the patient resume a productive life and become as independent as possible.

Care is coordinated by a physician specialized in rehabilitation and physical medicine. Other team members may include a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, rehabilitation nurse, dietitian, social worker, and psychologist.

Throughout the course of a patient's therapy, the rehabilitation team provides continuous education to family members on how to cope and assist with the therapeutic process, emphasizing adjustments needed for the patient to progress. The Rehabilitation Team works closely with the patient and family to coordinate the discharge plan and arrange additional resources needed.

Berger's Rehab Center provides comprehensive services that exceed offerings available at home health and nursing care facilities.

Program is dedicated exclusively to comprehensive rehabilitation care

Intensive 5 days/week therapies, promoting accelerated recovery (minimum 3 hours/day) and a modified program on Saturdays

Medical coverage available 24 hours/day

Daily access to physicians specialized in rehabilitation and physical medicine

Rehabilitation nurses on-site 24 hours/day

Group support and interaction from patients with similar disabilities

Patient case mix solely dedicated to rehabilitation

A referral to Berger's Rehabilitation Center can be made by a physician, insurance provider, family member, or patient. We provide a free pre-screening and insurance pre-certification for all patients.
