Cancer Center Receives Gift from Jeff Ankrom Golf Classic

Circleville, OH -- September 13, 2007 Harry Rubin, representing the Jeff Ankrom Memorial Golf Tournament, recently presented a check for $9,530 to the Berger Health Foundation. The funds were raised from generous sponsors, donors and golfers at the annual tournament which was held June 22 at Crown Hill Golf Club.

The monies are being used to establish a new restricted fund under the Foundation, called the Rainbow Fund. It is being called such because a rainbow is always considered a sign of hope, and it is the goal of the committee to bring hope to local cancer patients in need.

"The intent of the Rainbow Fund is to assist Bradley Cancer Center patients with uncovered financial needs for, but not limited to, simple things during their treatment and recovery process," said Harry Rubin, event chairperson. "For example, gas money for a trip to the doctor or perhaps money for a treatment itself. Maybe even a trip to the grocery store or perhaps money to go to a movie. I have said many times that money means nothing until you have none."

Presenting sponsor for the Jeff Ankrom Memorial Tournament was The Savings Bank.

The Berger Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed in 2004. The Foundation perpetuates the legacy of philanthropy and programmatic growth for healthcare and wellness as envisioned and delivered by Berger Health System.
