Circleville, OH – November 20, 2007– Berger Hospital’s Gift Shop recently donated over $20,000 to
Berger Hospital for renovations to its Maternity Center. “The Maternity Center will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2008,”
stated Barbara Poole, RN, Director of Maternity Services. “With the generous funding from the Gift Shop, the unit will now have
a beautiful new wood floor, new wallpaper and curtains, and a fresh coat of paint.”
“We truly appreciate the Gift Shop’s generosity for helping to make the renovations possible,” said Larry Thornhill, Berger CEO.
“Our goal is to provide the most comfortable environment we can to new mothers and their support persons during their stay at Berger,
and the newly renovated Maternity Unit will definitely complement that.”
The Berger Hospital Gift Shop is staffed by volunteers and offers a variety of gift items including fresh flowers, cards, candles
and more. Proceeds from purchases made in the Gift Shop are used to help provide equipment for patient care at Berger Hospital, small
gifts for patients during the holidays, and baby gifts for newborns. The group provides, on average, over $50,000 in support annually.
The Gift Shop also donates items for Berger Health Foundation fundraising events and funds four $1,000 renewable scholarships for high
school graduates pursuing health-related degrees.
