Circle of Caring Dollar Donation Days In Full Swing

Circleville, OH – March 10, 2008 - Circle of Caring’s Dollar Donation Days fundraiser is in full swing. The Faith in Action program, which is dedicated to meeting the needs of frail, elderly and disabled community members, will strive to gain $1.00 per Pickaway County resident during the campaign – which will help them meet their yearly budget in assisting others.

On March 15 th, Circle of Caring fundraising volunteers will be at Carnival, Kroger, Market on Main, and Wal-Mart to promote their campaign. In addition, collection canisters will be placed at the following Circleville businesses throughout March: Bella Zari Hair Studio & Day Spa, Berger Hospital, Gibson’s Café, Goodwill Store, Goodwin’s Family Restaurant, Lindsey’s Bake Shop, Medicine Shoppe, and Wittich’s Candy Shop. The Goody Nook and Pettit’s Market are participating in Williamsport, The Pit Stop in New Holland, and IGA Express and 56 Mini Mart in Tarlton. Other participating businesses are Berger Medical Center in Orient, South Bloomfield Dairy Queen and Citgo/Subway; Ashville Coffee Shop and Bubba’s Corner in Derby.

One Circle of Caring care recipient, who is 87 years old, said, “You will never know how much my family (who live out of town) and I appreciate the wonderful help I receive from Circle of Caring volunteers… They always check to see what I might need done next… and, above that, they always have a few minutes to visit.”

Circle of Caring, founded in 1997, is a Faith in Action program. Its mission is to assist the frail, elderly and disabled people and their families, on a casual basis. Volunteers provide transportation, handyman chores, yard work, shopping, light housekeeping, friendly phoning/visiting, respite care, and ramp building. All of these efforts are designed to help enable those served maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life in their own homes. The services provided by Circle of Caring are coordinated by Berger Health System, with support from United Way of Pickaway County, local churches, and the community at large. Circle of Caring funds are received and administered by Berger Health Foundation, a 501c(3) charitable organization.
