Circleville, OH – January 10, 2008 - New Members Appointed to Circle of Caring Council– Circle of Caring (COC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Allen, Stacy Braun, Dee Davis and Stan Summers for a three-year term on the Council. They join new Council Chair Nancy Shollenberger and council members Sondra Boyer, Secretary, Ken Curtis, Jim Edman, Dave Gray, Jean Howley, Dorothy Jones, Fr. Steve Krile, Don Ramey, and Jerri Rapp.
The COC Council is responsible for oversight and guidance with the local Faith in Action program to help assess community needs and existing resources to better assist frail, elderly and disabled people. They are instrumental in developing plans to carry out the mission, striving to coordinate programs and resources to maximize impact of the program. They also greatly benefit the program through their fundraising strategies.
Circle of Caring volunteers are available to assist frail, elderly and disabled community members in an attempt to meet unmet everyday needs so that individuals can remain in their own homes. Typically, volunteers assist with transportation, yard work, friendly visiting and phoning, light housekeeping, handyman chores, respite care, and ramp building.
Circle of Caring is a Faith in Action program of Berger Health System, initiated with a grant of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 1997. Support for the program comes from local congregations, United Way of Pickaway County and the community at large. Donations to Circle of Caring are administered through the Berger Health Foundation, with a specific purpose fund established to assure all gifts are used to operate this community volunteer program.
To become a Circle of Caring volunteer, or if you know someone in need of assistance, please call 474-7844 or 474-8371.
