Calvary "Doubles Up" at Circle of Caring Golf Tournament

Circleville, OH -- August 27, 2007 The 8th Annual Circle of Caring Golf Tournament was held Saturday, August 18 at Cook's Creek Golf Club. The Citizens Bank of Ashville, Circleville, and Commercial Point was the major corporate sponsor for the second year.

At the conclusion of the day, Golf Committee Chairman Glenn Reeser announced the winners of the event. The team of Mike Shoemaker, Kathy Cortez, Melvin Johnson and Dean Knauff came in first, followed by the second place team of Mitch Casey, Chris Martin, Mike Martin and Gary Brady. Greg and Kelly Armstrong, Brian Christonsen, and Duane Jolliff came in third. There were 10 teams registered to vie for the Traveling Trophy for the best church team which was also won by the Shoemaker, Cortez, Johnson, and Knauff team representing Calvary UM Church of Circleville.

Circle of Caring was pleased to have the following corporate sponsors: Berger Health System, Solid Rock Builders & Developers, Inc., Pickaway Plains Ambulance Service, Mt. Carmel Health System and Simply Dancing. Skill contest sponsors included Glenn and Linda Reeser, The Savings Bank, Jerry & Betty Wolford, and Ron and Linda Wunsch.

Circle of Caring is an interfaith volunteer program that assists frail, elderly and disabled people so they can maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life in their own homes. All proceeds from the event go to support the local Faith-in-Action program. Circle of Caring is affiliated with Berger Health System. Funds contributed to COC are received and administered by the Berger Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
