Berger Gift Shop donates chemo chairs and artwork to Cancer Center

Circleville, OH -- November 13, 2006 Berger Hospital’s Gift Shop recently donated four chemotherapy chairs and three pieces of artwork to the Bradley Cancer Center.

The chemotherapy chairs will be used to bring comfort to patients during their treatments, and the artwork has been placed at the entrance of the Cancer Center for the enjoyment of patients, visitors and staff.

"Our entire staff would like to thank the Gift Shop Board and the many volunteers for your generous gift to the Bradley Cancer Center," said Valerie Hugus, registered nurse at the Cancer Center.

"The new chemotherapy chairs are easy for our patients to get in and out of, and they are extremely comfortable. The artwork brings comfort to our patients by making the overall environment more peaceful. We appreciate your support in helping us care for our patients."

The Berger Hospital Gift Shop offers a variety of items including fresh flowers, cards, candles and more. Proceeds from purchases made in the Gift Shop are used to help provide equipment for patient care. The group provides, on average, over $50,000 of support annually. The Gift Shop also funds four $1,000 scholarships for high school graduates pursuing a health-related degree. The Gift Shop is staffed fully by volunteers.
