Meet Steve Spicer...

"After spending four years at Ohio State University and thirty years as a career art teacher in Grove City, Ohio, I have returned to Circleville and my art. It is great to be back and to be able to do the things that I love. My art is largely an exploration of pattern, texture, tradition and the contrast of light against dark. It is an endlessly fascinating journey that is like Celtic knot work in that it has no end.

Pumpkin Fantasy Among the earliest art processes I learned in Mrs. Luna’s Saturday morning art class way back in the late 1950’s and early 60’s was linoleum block and silk screen printing. Although I have worked in many media, these are the ones that I have come back to again and again over the years. This entire show is composed of these forms of printmaking with watercolor accents here and there. The print entitled “Enigma” was awarded the first place in the pumpkin category of this year’s Pumpkin Show Art Show."

Meet Susan Samuel...

Susan is well known in central Ohio and New York for her watercolors. Her love of gardening and nature reflect in her subject matter. She is a member of the Cooperstown Art Association, N.Y., the Central Ohio Watercolor Society and the Lancaster Art Guild. You may have seen some of Susan’s work at the Circleville Pumpkin Show, where she has won top honors for many years.

The art gallery at Berger Hospital is the result of a partnership between ArtsaRound and Berger Health System. ArtsaRound is a community based organization dedicated to supporting art and artists in Pickaway County and the regional area. Berger Health System is a community based health care system dedicated to providing quality care so that people do not need to travel outside of their own backyard to have their health care needs met.

Glorious Pumpkin The mission of the ArtsaRound Gallery at Berger is to foster the relationship between art and healing by providing a venue for artists, primarily from, but not limited to, Pickaway County and the regional area, to offer their work for the aesthetic pleasure of patients, visitors and staff. The initiatives of this unique program also contribute to the success of Berger Hospital’s mission "to be the best community hospital in the State of Ohio."
