Berger Announces Employees of the 3rd Quarter

Circleville, OH -- October 8, 2004 Valarie Hoffman and Gerald Liparito were announced this week as Berger Health System's employees of the 3rd quarter.

Valarie Hoffman, RNC, has worked at Berger for 25 years. She is a staff nurse in the Surgery Department, where she handles pre-admissions testing for surgery patients. In this role, she assures all patients get the information needed prior to surgery including education, assessment and questions answered.

According to Michael Pitzer, Director of Perioperative Services, "Valarie is a RN who cares. She is organized and committed to assuring all our patients begin their surgical journey with everything they need. Valarie is a leader and mentor within the department and carries out her duties in a positive and customer-oriented manner.

Hoffman resides in Stoutsville with her husband Bob and twins, Alex and Christian (age 17), and daughter Olivia (age 13).

Gerald Liparito has been employed by Berger for five years and is currently the Coordinator for Patient Financial Services. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating the self-pay collections and financial counseling functions. He initiates the financial aid process to assist patients and their families as well as Berger employees.

According to Phil Fitch, Patient Financial Services Manager, "Gerald is a team player. He does not worry about personal recognition and awards. He simply does what it takes to get the job done, helping all of us along the way. I am grateful for all of Gerald's contributions to PFS and Berger as a whole."

Liparito resides in Laurelville with his wife Michelle and their children Kathleen (19), Samantha (16), Nicholas (12), and Cassandra (8).

Both employees received $100, a designated parking space at the hospital for the quarter, and a plaque.
