Circle of Caring Volunteers Celebrate Successful Year

Circleville, OH -- January 26, 2004 Circle of Caring (COC) volunteers recently met at St. Joseph's Church to enjoy food, fellowship, and fun. During the holiday gathering, appreciation, and recognition of COC volunteers was given. In 2003, volunteers have averaged over 218 hours of service per month.

Volunteers contribute to the independence and quality of life of frail, elderly, and disabled people by assisting them with everyday, unmet needs such as transportation, friendly visiting, phoning, handyman chores, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, yard work, respite care, and ramp building. Over 175 families benefited from the COC volunteers in this year alone.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Circle of Caring volunteer, attend the upcoming Volunteer Training. It is set for Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at 1280 N. Court St., Circleville. To register, you may call 474-7844 or 474-8371, by Feb. 20.

Circle of Caring is a community service coordinated by Berger Health System, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and United Way of Pickaway County.
